Log Files

BounceStudio Enterprise maintains two types of log files. They are the "Bounce" logs and "Message Archive" logs.

The "Bounce" logs are the log files that BounceStudio Enterprise archives your bounced email addresses too. Bounced email addresses are always written to these log files even if you choose to log them to a database, unless you've disabled "Bounce" log archiving on the Global Settings - General Settings screen.

The "Message Archive" logs are where BounceStudio Enterprise archives the messages it retrieves from your POP Accounts. This functionality can be disabled on the Global Settings - General Settings screen.

Directory Structure

The log files are written to the following directories:

Bounce Logs: <INSTALLDIR>\Bounce Logs\<POP ACCOUNT NAME>\
Message Archive: <INSTALLDIR>\Message Archive\<POP ACCOUNT NAME>\

For example, if you installed BounceStudio Enterprise to the c:\BounceStudio directory, and had a BounceStudio POP account named "Sales Newsletter", then the logs for the "Sales Newsletter" POP account would be found in the following directories:

Bounce Logs: c:\BounceStudio\Bounce Logs\Sales Newsletter
Message Archive: c:\BounceStudio\Message Archive\Sales Newsletter

File Contents - Bounce Logs

The contents of the BounceStudio Enterprise "Bounce" log files are pretty simple. They consist of comma separated text files with 3 columns of data. Column #1 contains the bounce type. Column #2 contains the original recipient email address of the bounced message. Column #3 contains the timestamp (local time) of when the BounceStudio Bounce Service retrieved the message.
